Alasdair achieved his Master’s degree in Pure and Applied Chemistry at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow in the summer of 2021. He undertook his final year project under the supervision of Dr Alastair Wark in the field of nanoparticle systems with a special interest in their applicability for imaging through nonlinear optical techniques. His fourth year of study was undertaken as an industrial placement in St Austell, Cornwall at IMERYS Minerals ltd. Here he worked within the filtration department. He began his PhD at the University of Birmingham in 2021 under the supervision of Dr Maria Chiara Arno in the field of polymer design for cellular surface engineering.
