Amaziah graduated with a BSc in Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine, spending his final year probing STAT protein interactions by designing a bimolecular fluorescence assay within the group of Prof. Uwe Vinkemeier. After taking a year out to volunteer and travel his home country of Philippines, he undertook an MSc in Applied Biomolecular technology under Prof. Stephen Harding at the University of Nottingham which involved research of bacterial two-component systems and associated antibiotic discovery. In 2021, Amaziah started his PhD within the LifETIME CDT, supervised by Dr. Maria Chiara Arno and Prof. Alicia El Haj at the University of Birmingham. His project focuses on developing cell-based therapies for liver regeneration by functionalising stem-cell surfaces using bio-orthogonal chemistry.
