Josh obtained his PhD from the University of Bath’s Centre for Sustainable Chemical Technologies in 2020, working with Professor Steve Bull to develop sustainable biorefinery models. He then continued as a PDRA at Bath, working on photocatalysis and amine functionalisation with Dr Alex Cresswell. He moved to Birmingham in 2023 to undertake postdoctoral studies in the O’Reilly group, working on photocatalytic polymers. In June 2025, Josh joined the Arno group to work on cell surface engineering using biocompatible polymers.
