Gaia de Domenico graduated with a BSc in Natural Sciences from Loughborough University, focusing on Material Sciences and Biosciences. During her final year, she collaborated with Dr. Fiona Hatton on developing thermally responsive polyacrylic acid (PAA) hydrogels for biomedical applications. In 2024, she began a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Birmingham as part of the Arno Group, where her research is centered on the production and testing of living functional hydrogels.
